Choreographer Bui Ngoc Quan studied classical ballet at the Vietnam Dance School, worked at the Hanoi Opera House, then accepted Bernadette Tripier's invitation to go to France to study contemporary dance. In 2002, he met Alain Platel and began working at one of Europe's leading dance companies - Les Ballet C de la B.

Throughout his creative journey, Bui Ngoc Quan continuously experimented with projects that involved non-professional dancers such as children in a war memorial program in Ypres or prisoners in Bruge prison. In 2014, he collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Theater to conduct a tour in Vietnam for the famous contemporary dance project "Out of Context: For Pina" choreographed by Alain Platel.

Choreographer Bui Ngoc Quan always aims for extreme yet emotional ways of handling his work. He is considered a groundbreaking choreographer in both Vietnam and Belgium.

Dan Duong is a fun-loving drummer from Hanoi. A Virgo who has been actively involved in the Hub community and has played drums for the band Empty Space. Currently, Duong is the drummer for Mam, a band specializing in Hip Hop, Funk, and Fusion. Duong is currently touring with Rec tour - a live music tour featuring original live music, aiming to connect performance art, multicultural and local cultural exchange, and interaction between foreign and local artists at each REC stop.

Mara-Madeleine Pieler

Stage and lighting designer Mara-Madeleine Pieler studied stage and costume design at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart and at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg in the Department of Stage Design and Fine Arts from 2012. She also successfully completed her Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design at the University of Wismar in 2022.

Her artistic approach is characterised by the interweaving of basic architectural structures, exploring the potential of narrative light as a central element.

Mara-Madeleine Pieler designs stage spaces for theatres such as Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Staatstheater Cottbus and Kampnagel in Hamburg.

She also realises lighting designs and immersive spatial installations for the cultural and architectural sectors.

Lyon Nguyễn

Lyon Nguyen is a movement and visual artist based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He received his BFA degree in Dance at Sam Houston State University and attended graduate school at the University of Utah in the U.S. before relocating to Vietnam.

As a choreographer, Lyon often employs collage as narrative vehicle in order to heighten the somatic experience of his complexed identity. He has presented works at multiple venues and festivals across the U.S., including Versatility Dance Festival (Colorado), the Jack Crystal Theatre, The Tank theatre (New York), Small Plate Choreography Festival (New Jersey), Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, The Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival (Utah), Bailando International Dance Festival (Texas), Highways Performance Space & Gallery (California), and Dibden Center for The Arts (Vermont).

Lyon was honored to have taught creative dance and other dance theory classes at the University of Utah, as well as holding workshops for multiple dance festivals that he attended. After returning to Vietnam, he joined the Contemporary Dance faculty at the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational School of Dance and taught there for 2 years. At the moment, he is teaching Contact Improv, Contemporary Modern Dance, Adult Ballet, and Creative Process classes throughout Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, he also founded “nhận thấy chuyển động” (i.e. “perceiving movement”) – a series that aims to engage the Vietnamese creative community with dance through the lens of academic inquiry.

Artist Nguyen Duy Thanh started as a hiphop dancer and has now pursued a dancing career for more than 17 years. He is the first Vietnamese artist to combine hiphop with contemporary languages ​​and Asian traditions to create a unique style. Through many years of working in the performance field and participating in many multicultural and multidisciplinary projects, he has built and developed a unique movement language, going beyond dance. In his creations, Nguyen Duy Thanh is interested in space and the emotions that motivate him to move to connect with that space. Lam Duy Phuong (Kim)

Kim is a Hip Hop dancer and former leader of the Southern Hip Hop crew 'La Différence'. His body-based interdisciplinary practice encompasses various art genres, including street dance, butoh and contemporary performance.

While researching and practicing his own movement method called ‘toad rhythm’, he is also exploring concepts surrounding ‘dance together’. Kim’s dance performance and choreography credits include; ‘Method’ choreographed by New Zealander Ross McCormack (Saigon, 2019), ‘L'EGO’ (Hanoi, 2020), and ‘X-Project’ by Ngo Thanh Phuong (Hue, Saigon, 2021). In 2022, he participated in Festiv’Arts 2 Rue in Roquebrunes, France with the Good Morning Vietnam Breaking Team, and the Busan International Film Festival as the leading actor in “Memento Mori: Earth, ” a nominated movie in the New Currents competition.

Son Luong

Before becoming known for Memphis Jookin dance style, Son Luong had trained in numerous dance styles. He first discovered his passion for street dance with his high school dance crew, covering Jabbawockeez. He then progressed with the Zunik Crew, specializing in choreography. Then he started performing on larger stages with the professional dance crew LC Community. Finally, in 2016, Son Luong joined the young Hip Hop group La Différence as a choreographer while also developing his freestyle dance.

Between 2017 and 2018, Son Luong became known in the dance community for Tutting (hand-style dance) along with dancer Kuo (La Différence). Together, they founded Saigon Puzzle, promoting the art of hand-styling in Saigon.

In 2019, Son Luong shifted his focus to Memphis Jookin. After winning the Nghiện Dance Showcase Competition by using Memphis Jookin, Sơn and his crew Kallus (Lazzier and AK95) started developing the Memphis Jookin community and founded the Jookin' Club Saigon.

In 2022, Son Luong appeared on the television show Street Dance Vietnam and made a big impression on the audiences with Memphis Jookin.

In 2023, Son Luong strengthened his image not only as a dancer but also as an influencer who wanted to inspire young people through his dance style and street lifestyle.

Additionally, Son Luong is also active in modeling and choreography.

Nguyễn Hoàng Bảo Ngọc (Mini Phantom)

Mini Phantom is a Bến Tre-born B-boy and a core member of the GMV Good Morning Vietnam Crew, founded by Bboy Yohan Kim Long Ly. Phantom started learning and practicing dance in 2008 with the Overlive Crew (Ben Tre). This is also the crew that birthed Mini Phantom from his first steps and has always accompanied him in his initial battles throughout his dance journey.

After 8 years of relentless pursuit and training, Phantom decided to move to Saigon to easily develop his passion and joined GMV.
In 2018, he along with GMV and Leader Yohan Ly participated in Battle Of The Year Asia and embarked on a 3-month tour in France for the Hiphop Festival. At the event, he was in Battles, Showcases, Street Shows, and taught classes in France. Remarkably, in his first visit to Paris, Phantom won Best Of Cypher at the Redbull Bc One Camp France.

With his innovative musicality, incredible endurance in every Powermove and Flip, and high-level technical skills, Mini Phantom has left a mark on both Vietnamese and international stages. Since returning to Vietnam, he has focused on nurturing the hip-hop community, teaching at dance studios, choreographing for renowned Viet Rappers, and performing in artistic projects.
